Home...

HONEY...I'M HOME!!!! Oh, yeah. I forgot. I'm single. Anywho...I have finally arrived to my residence. I had a great weekend at my moms though. Nothing is better than home cooked meals when you had been living in a hotel for 2 months. I made it there in like 13 hours. It would have been sooner but I had to stop a couple of extra times.

So I spent my last night in Louisiana sitting with some of the guys eating crawfish, crabs, shrimp and drinking beer. We had so much food. There was at least 8 pounds of crawfish, a dozen or so blue crabs and 3 pounds of shrimp. We all were fat and happy afterwards. It was a great end to our time there.

The aftermath...

The only bad thing was I didn't get to bed until after midnight. I was suppose to leave at 6am. Well thats what time I ended up getting up. Talk about a little hung over. It took me a while to get going. 6:45 and I was finally out of there. I was sooo tired driving! I pretty much made an IV of energy drinks. But I made it to moms safe.

Extremely foggy morning in Louisiana

Today I get home and after many trips back and forth to my truck, I got all my crap inside. Why do I always pack so much crap? Haha. Lesson learned, but more than likely going to be repeated. I was excited to get home an look outside my window to see the awesome view from my apartment.

A rainy and cloudy Miami

NOPE! Haha jokes on me. I have to wait longer to see my view. Oh well. At least I am home.

Endless surfing...

Every get that feeling like you need to do something on the internet but don't know what so you just wander aimlessly? Yeah. I got that feeling right now. I have looked at just about all of my bookmarks...twice. I just keep wandering. I thing its because I have all my work that I brought home done and everyone else seems to be scrambling. I probably should have brought my chart home so I could finish it. Uh...

Only a couple of more days and I am out of here! I will be one the road Friday morning. I just don't know if I am going to visit my brother one last time or just head straight to my moms. I was going to make a pit stop in Orlando, but the guy I was going to see doesn't seem to want to contact me. So I guess I don't seem to want to stop anymore. Haha. I need a couple of days to see mom anyways.

All I know is I have got to find something to do. Idle hands are the devils handy work. Or so they say. Maybe I will workout again. I do have to weigh in tomorrow morning anyways.

Nothing says "I love me" like...

Nothing says "I love me" like new ink. I finally got my tattoo. It was a long time coming. It is an addition on my ankle tattoo. I get a tattoo every time I advance. The start of it was an anchor when I made Third Class in 2007. So since I made Second Class I got to add on to it. Here is what I drew up:

Not too shabby if I don't say so. It means alot to me. I fought hard to get where I am and always kept my eye on the prize. So a dagger with an eye makes sense. That and it fit with my anchor idea.

I was able to get an appointment in New Orleans with NOLA Tattoo. It was one of the first places I actually tried to get into for the past couple of weeks. When I called this time they set me up with a time that worked perfect with my schedule (and no tweaks).

The whole crew went up to New Orleans today to tour the CG Cutter Eagle and go to the World War II Museum. That was actually pretty cool. The Eagle was there for fleet week. Its an interesting ship. The museum was good as well. I had been there before so I pretty much seen everything before. There was an exhibit for 9/11 that they are starting up. That was a tear jerker.

Then it was on to the good stuff. My tattoo! Whoop whoop! I am so happy. I am so addicted to tatts and I finally got my fix. It so happened that Leslie, the artist, is married to a Coastie. A BM1 in fact. Haha. Everything just seemed to fall into place and just work out. I needed that.

You don't have the balls...

I may not have the balls to do it but I damn sure have the tits to pull it off.

Ok so this is my new favorite saying. I may have said and done a few things that others may think took balls. I kinda got heated in a conversation with my boss today. I was totally justified. I came into work early and he made me do something totally retarded that would supposedly help me later on in my career (like waaaayyyy down in my career). Yup I was totally livid. Later on he came up and asked if I was still mad at him and I told him "Absolutely". Haha. I'm such a bitch.

Now, lets see, what else..... Oh on the way home today (second time around) Me and the guy riding with me got to see a cop pull into the median and grab something out of his truck. I thought it was a shotgun and he seemed to think it was spike strips. Later on down the road the other side was blocked by a shit ton of cops and some guy getting arrested. Nice. A little bit further and some cops were flash-lighting the side of the road. The guy must have been throwing some goods out the windows. Oopsy. Hehe.

P.S. Here was my horoscope for today:

Although you know that your normally cautious approach to your goals usually works in your favor, your current excitement is making it difficult to hold yourself back. You're eager to let others know exactly how you feel now, but you don't think that they're going to like what they hear. Trust your inner voice; intuition will steer you in the right direction.

Ya think? haha.

Just another crazy weekend...

Thursday was an interesting day. By the time I got back from work I was an angry ball of craziness. People can be so freaking stupid. I almost hit someone purposely because they were driving like an idiot and I could just barely take it. As soon as I got to my room I changed and went down to the hotel treadmill. I barely said two words to my roommate. I stretched a few minutes, put on a heavier rock song on repeat,  and then took off like a bat out of hell. I ran as fast as I could. It worked. I ran out all my anger and also managed to sweat a face in my shirt.

Friday I got to see a car wreck. I was riding with one of the guys back from work and I look at the other side of the road I see a car going backwards down the lanes with smoke flying from the tires. It then swings around and backs off the road into a ditch and into a soft watery marsh. Haha that's gotta suck pulling that one out.

Saturday I decided to go up to my brother's in Mississippi. I was hoping to get a tattoo done while I was there. No such luck. The two shops I was interested in were booked solid. Damn. It works out in the end. It gives me more time to tweek the design a little more. It's going to be sweet. I am not putting it up here until I have it. I already had someone steal my design before and got the tattoo I had been wanting forever and they got it before I had the chance to get it. Stupid people.

Saturday night was awesome. I saw my brother play another gig. Damn he is a good drummer. I also worked the door for him and was pretty much his bouncer. Haha. It was a little hole in the wall place that only took cash. I didn't have much to worry about. Except some drunk guy that was wearing the same color shirt as me. I had to tell him to back off.

I did however meet a very nice southern boy. I didn't bother to get his name or if I did I forgot it. I got what I want from him.....and I think I bruised my vagina. I bet he is alittle bruised as well. I was more than a little rough with him. I slapped him at one point too. That's my tribute to you Hank Moody.

P.S. Ran over a gator on the way back from my brothers today. I must admit it was quite satisfying.

A first for everything...

That there is. This past weekend was a huge pile of firsts for me. It was my first time ever being underway on a cutter, first time driving a single engine jet drive boat, first time ever notching said small boat, first time pulling alongside a moving cutter, yada yada yada..... you get the point. I will say that I drove the small boat alot better the second day than I did the first. I got quite a few complements.

The whole weekend was kinda bitter sweet. We all came together as a crew and got to go underway as a crew for the first time. It was all done on Easter Weekend. Ya it kinda sucks working the holiday, but I honestly wished we had more days underway. Those 3 days are all we got for at least another month and a half. The days were long and all of us were exhausted, but it felt good.

Sunday after training we were invited to a retired officers house. This is the guy who gave us extra tickets to the Championship game and is also the cousin of Thad Matta. Mark and his wife are such a riot. They had a shrimp boil for us. Of course we were late to get there but that only meant that it was ready for us. I don't know about the rest of the crew, but I had a great time. We were exchanging stories, drinking some beer, talking about Ohio State, and eventually he brought out the shots. I only hope I can be as salty as him when I retire.

Popped my cherry today....

Today was the first time getting underway on a Coast Guard cutter and also the first time underway on my new boat! Yeah, today was a great day for me.
Shining in the morning sun

Panoramic view from the bow

It sucked that I had to get up at 4:45 am to get ready to leave. Oh and the 2 hour bus ride. Whatever. We got there and was able to get underway with not a whole lot of problems. I got some training in and tomorrow and Sunday I will be doing some small boat training! I am super stoked about that!

Ok that is all cause I'm tired and can't think anymore. Haha.

In passing....

Monday was a up and down type of day. I went to work like usual but I was able to score tickets to go see the Championship Game. I just wish the Buckeyes had pulled it out of their ass and would have been in it but it was still a good game. Kentucky won so that was a good thing.

I sat in the same seats as last time but I had the opportunity to sit closer but I gave the seat to one of the other guys. He was really excited to have that seat. I'm such a nice person. The seats that the other guys had were actually pretty sweet. They were a few seats away from Eddie George and they got to see Jon Popper from the Blues Travelers.

The sad thing about the day was that my Pete, One Eyed Pete, had passed away. Here I am out and about on the town, watching a basketball game, and I wasn't there for his final breaths. Poor guy. After all we had been through and the long road trip here, I wasn't here for him. And thats where I became a bad person. But in my defense, he has been looking rough for a while and I didn't expect him to keel over that night. I had a proper burial for him that night.

Rest In Peace little buddy

The next morning sucked. I had hardly any sleep. Thankfully I got to take a nap when I got back to the room. Winning. A three hour nap was complete bliss.

In a cascade of cleanliness...

Well another week is done. Work was work. We had to go down to Port Fourchon to meet the boat pull in for the dry dock period. It was alright. The coolest part is that I was able to smooze my way onto our small boat. Hehe. I was the first one from our boat on it. Everyone was JEALOUS..... Hehe.

It was a good picture taking opportunity and it was kinda cool to see the boat being lifted out of the water and so on. It was just too damn early in the morning and lasted way too long. The good thing was that Amanda (the roommate/coworker) drove so we went to Grand Isle, LA for the rest of the day for some much needed relaxation.

We changed at a supermarket and ended up going back in and spending an hour in the store. Haha. It was an awesome store. It had a pizzeria inside it and had so many tourist trinkets. Everyone there was so friendly. I got made fun of because my country accent was brought out. Can yall believe dat? haha.

Then it was beach time! After finding a spot on the beach to park, we layed out for some relaxation. Unfortunitly the sun that had been beating us up all day decided to go away. It was still a good time. Not a whole lot of people and the water wasn't all that bed. At least when you were in it for a few minutes. But alas, it started to sprinkle so we booked it.

Shenanigans I tell you!

Saturday involved us lucking out and scoring some tickets to the Final Four Game. Sweet!!! I got to see my Buckeyes play. Its just too bad they lost. It was a very close game. Kansas just barely squeeked by. And as a FYI for everyone, at NCAA tournaments, there is no alcohol served. Yup. The Superdome started to sell then a guy came around and cut it off. Whew! I thought that there was going to be riots! Haha.

Now it will be back to work tomorrow. Oh well. Hopefully it will be entertaining.
