Addicting weekend...

So I thought I would take a brief moment to explain my actions from this weekend. It was a very addicting weekend.

My first addition was reading Fifty Shades of Grey. I have heard so much about the book that I decided to read a little exert online. Whoops! Bad mistake. I read two chapters and I was hooked! I bought the digital version. It's easier than carrying around a book and I didn't want to leave the seclusion of my home.

I read the first book all damn weekend. Haha. Now I have to download the other two. I was worried when I first started to read it. It started out with the whole "Twilight" feel. Boy was I wrong! Haha. Totally not Twilight, but still just as addicting.

The second addition I found was The Game of Thrones. Again I heard alot about it so I thought I would watch it. I have AT&T U-verse so the On Demand feature had both seasons. I spent all day Sunday watching it. Well that and reading.

It's a good thing that I can multi-task or this would have been a difficult weekend for me. Haha.

New addition...

There is a new addition to my blog. I have added a page called "My body, the canvas...".

Alot of people always ask what my tattoos mean and so forth. I decided to dedicate a page to just that.

I am still in the process of posting all of them. It is taking a while. I have quite a few tattoos and some have a deeper meaning that just takes longer to describe.

It is time consuming but also kind of emotional. I have never really shared this much about my tattoos. As far as I am concerned they are for me and nobody else.

These are very personal to me and its hard for me to open up about them. So its because of this I can only handle a couple posts at a time.

Damn phone...

Ok so I got my new phone the other day. It is a pretty good model, I'm sold on it. It is alot better than the older one, but there are some things that was just easier with the old one. Now it just might be that I was use to it so it was easy....

...but when I got my first phone call I had no clue oh how to answer it. Haha! Of course it was an important phone call. The answering function has like 3 different options. One goes straight to voicemail, another gives the option to send a message and finally answer. I of course picked the wrong one. Haha oh well. I guess it will take me a little time to get use to this new contraption.

That was as much fun as...

Last night was not fun for me. I was getting ready to go to bed at around 10 pm and I heard some noises in my hall closet. I opened it up and water was all over the place. At first I thought it was coming from my a/c so I shut off all the circuit breakers. I opened it all up to investigate and the inside was fairly dry. Nothing outside of the normal condensation. I'm like: where in the hell is all this water coming from.

So after laying down a bunch of towels I called the repair service. Of course a leaking a/c is not an emergency and I would have to call at 8 am to get someone to come look at it. After I investigated further (and tore some insulation down) I found where the water was coming from. Upstairs. Great.

I have lived here for almost a year and I can only tell you the first name of one of the people who live here. Not very sociable. So I go up stairs and knock on their door. They don't answer. I know they are there because I heard the tv on. So I knock and knock, and knock, and knock a lot more. Nothing. Awesome.

I start calling every number related to this apartment. The manager wasn't in so I left a message. The Association was closed and their emergency number was bogus. The security guard who is usually patrolling out front was no where to be found, and the landlady didn't answer her phone. I start to flip the fuck out. Nobody is around for an emergency? Seriously?

I tried knocking on the neighbors door again and he finally answered. He opened the door and was like no its not me, my floor is dry. Grrr. So with nothing I could do until the morning, I told my boss I wouldn't be in. At 11:30 pm I just put a plastic tub there to catch the water. I got to bed at 1 am after I finally cleaned up as best as I could. (With no a/c of course)

That's an inch of water in the tub from only a couple of hours.

So to make a long story short, this morning around 9 am I was finally able to get a hold of the manager. He looked at it and thought it was my line that was leaking but went to check upstairs. After he came back he told me it was the guy upstairs. His drain line was broke and it has been like that for so long that there are mushrooms growing. Disgusting. How can you not notice that!?!

So he got it fixed today, I hope. The water has stopped. I am going to give it a day to dry out and try to clean up some more. The bad thing in all of this is that I have mold growing behind the a/c that I never noticed. The landlady is out of town and the owner is out of the country, so I have no idea when the mold is going to be cleaned up. The drywall right there needs to be replaced. If I wasn't going to be leaving soon for more training, this wouldn't be so bad. Not good timing. But is there ever a good time for bad things to happen?

So. Yup. That was as much fun as using a tooth pick to fight off a pack of rabid ducks.

Just call me Lollipop cause I am a sucker. I totally got suckered into getting a new phone. Damn you Verizon salespeople who have been calling me twice a day for a month now. After two years with this one, I guess I was due for a newer one.

They gave me it for basically free. I have to do the whole rebate thing. No biggie. And all of my charger should work with it. All I needed to get was a new case and a screen protector. Which I got at a discount AND it has already shipped.

Well played Verizon. Well played.

What do you see...

What do you really see when you look into a window of a café and see two people, a man and a woman, sitting together rather closely? Think hard.

What do the clothes they are wearing represent? The not so new, but not so worn clothes that you would imagine an everyday Joe or Jane would be wearing. Comfy, soft, casual.

How close are they really sitting? So close that someone couldn’t possibly fit in between them but still enough room for the random movement. Comfortable, at ease, relaxed.

What are the expressions on the faces of these two? As they look towards each other and the pairs of eyes meet. Affection, gratitude, devotion.

Or do you see red? Anger and loathing and displeasure fill you. Are you disgusted? Do you despise the very meaning of these two?

Or is it green that you see? Jealousy and envy of what these two have?

What is your perception of the scenery around you? How is it that everything looks loud?

Your interpretation determines your perception. Your moods, attitudes, and emotions will shape the life that you are living and the way you see these two.

So think again. It is more than what you see. What do you feel?

My moto is on vaca...

My motivation is on vacation. I know I REALLY need to workout, but as soon as I get home all I want to do is sleep. Yeah I know. Why don't I just workout before I go home? That isn't working either. The most exercise I have had lately was playing Ultimate Frisbee on Monday. I played for over 2 hours. That burned some calories!

Tuesday if I wasn't at work I was sleeping. I came home and took a 4 hour nap, then went back to sleep a couple of hours later. I haven't napped yet today only because I have to get up really early tomorrow. That and it seems everyone in this building wants to make some sort of banging noise or their dogs barking. Grrr.

It was pouring down yesterday after my nap so I could go for a jog. It rained again today but it seems to have stopped. I really should go out and do something. Uh. I am being soooooo lazy!

Seis de Mayo...

Thats Cinco de Mayo +1. Haha. Yesterday was pretty good. I went to the horse track with friends to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby. Get this....I even wore a dress and a hat!!! Yeah I know right!!! Totally out of character for me.

Yes there are pictures for proof, but I don't have them yet. They are on a friends camera. So I will put them on here as soon as I get them. I don't have the typical derby hat. I rocked it Miami style with a fedora. That's all I had anyways. Plus I think I look cuter with that hat anyways.

It just reminds me of the craziness that ensued when I was in Louisiana. I left for there with a whirl wind of emotions. I can't say that they are gone, but at least I have a better control of them.

I am a different person now. I talk like I was gone on some year long I'm-trying-to-find-myself journey. Nope. Just two months.

But alot did happen leading up to the trip and during the trip. My posts can pretty much back me up on this. I went from being a happy go lucky person to being busier than an ant during a sugar spill to a angry little she-devil to finally just me.

I have come to terms with everything and I'm just going to let things roll. Even if it is a little bit tilted.

From one blogger to another...

It's the small things that makes everything worth while. I drove 20 miles (that took an hour, thank you Miami traffic) to go see Jenny Lawson. She has a blog called The Bloggess (http://thebloggess.com/ ) and has recently written a book (http://thebloggess.com/lets-pretend-this-never-happened-a-mostly-true-memoir/ ).

She is an absolute riot! She said some hilarious things and is just so goofy! Someone I can totally relate to!

Unfortunately I was over 20 minutes late to her speech, so I was the creepy person glaring in from a distant corner. Haha. At least I was in earshot. One thing that totally worked in my favor was that she went to a different building to sign books. Meaning those in the back were the first ones in line. Score!!!

And she totally dug my "I decided to be AWESOME today". Bonus.

New and improved?

Hey all. I am re-vamping my blog. I am hoping it flows a little better and looks more enticing. I am still new at this thing but just trying to make it better. And comments or suggestions will be at least read. Haha.

Oh and share with your peeps. Maybe my peeps and your peeps can be peeps. Or we can just get those Marshmallow candies that they sell at Easter. Either way.

There come a point...

There comes a point when you should just call it a night. Sometimes things just don't go your way. Tonight has been one of those nights. I can't handle rejection well. So oh course my reaction to rejection is to drink a little more. Causing me to send out random texts.  Viscous cycle.

I don't understand it. I hate the guys here in Miami, whether actually from here or not. Either way, long story short I invited someone over and got denied. Of course it was "nothing to do with me" situation. I call bullshit. I guess I can be to intimidating and come on strong. But damn. Sometimes a girl has an itch and guys make it so difficult sometimes. They can do it, why can't I?
